About the center

A small, settled international community on a leafy Changchun campus.

01

The international center opened in 2011 and gained International Baccalaureate authorization the following year. Since then, we have focused on a single curriculum done well — the IB Diploma Programme — taught by an international faculty in English.

02

Our faculty is intentionally stable: most teachers stay for many years, so students are taught by people who know them. The center is modestly sized, with state-of-the-art labs, a dedicated art teaching area, and good resources in every classroom.

03

We sit inside The High School Attached to Northeast Normal University, a research-oriented school founded in 1950 with approximately 8,650 students. Our students share the campus, the libraries, and the sports and arts facilities of the host school.

Programs

One curriculum, done well — the IB Diploma Programme.

We are an IB World School and the IB Diploma is the only pathway we offer. Students typically complete a one-year IGCSE foundation in Grade 10 followed by the two-year IB Diploma in Grades 11–12.

01 · Pre-IB / IGCSE

IGCSE Foundation Year

Grade 10 · 1 year

A one-year bridge that helps students transition from the Chinese national curriculum into international study. Built on the Cambridge IGCSE framework, the year focuses on academic English, the study skills students will rely on in the Diploma, and a first taste of inquiry-based learning.

02 · IBDP

IB Diploma Programme

Grades 11–12 · 2 years

A breadth-first curriculum across six subject groups, the Theory of Knowledge (TOK) course, an Extended Essay (EE), and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS). Authorized by the IBO since 2012.
